Tree I is a table vase. After a storm, a fallen tree often reveals its strength with unexpected clarity. The surface of this vase recalls tree bark, while the forming process leaves every movement visible in the clay. The body rises like a trunk, and the flowers become its branches and crown.

This piece is unglazed, allowing the texture of the clay to stay exposed. It was finished in a pit firing, where flame, smoke, ash, and organic materials leave unpredictable marks permanently embedded in the surface. The interior is sealed with beeswax, making the vase suitable for water in most cases. I recommend using only a small amount and replacing it regularly.
