Nikita Evglevskii

Brick is a table vase made from dense block of clay. Surface is muted with reds and greys, remaining close to the colour of the earth itself. The vase is retaining the weight and stillness of the material from which it came.

This piece is unglazed, allowing the texture of the clay to stay exposed. It was finished in a pit firing, where flame, smoke, ash, and organic materials leave unpredictable marks permanently embedded in the surface. The interior is sealed with beeswax, making the vase suitable for water in most cases. I recommend using only a small amount and replacing it regularly.
